Our story, Our mission

TC Community Table is committed to providing nutritious food and essential clothing to individuals and families in need. Through kindness, dignity, and community support, we strive to alleviate hardship and foster a sense of belonging for all.

From humble beginnings to a growing mission

TC Community Table is a nonprofit ministry birthed at Turners Chapel AME Church, a congregation known for its outstanding reputation in the Florence community and across the state for faith, compassion, and outreach. What began five years ago as a small church soup kitchen has now grown into a dedicated nonprofit organization that serves over 80 nutritious meals twice a month to the families in need off the historic Washington Street in downtown High Point, NC. We started with about 100 meals per month and have steadily increased our impact.

Nourishing bodies and spirits

TC Community Table is the expansion of our former Turners Chapel Soup Kitchen Ministry. For many years, Turners Chapel operated a soup kitchen that provided meals to those in need in our community. As the need has grown — and as opportunities to expand our outreach have increased — we recognized that transforming the soup kitchen into a fully developed nonprofit organization would allow us to do even more. Thus in 2025, the non-profit of TC Community Table was established - birthed out of Turners Chapel’s long-standing commitment to feed the hungry and serve our neighbors.

Our impact in High Point

TC Community Table serves over 80 nutritious meals every week to the homeless in the Washington Street area of High Point, NC. We started with about 100 meals per month and have steadily increased our impact, touching more lives and offering essential support to those in need.

"The commitment and compassion of TC Community Table have made a real difference in our community. They truly live out their mission."
